Fire Academy Bunk-In Program

Flint-Gresham Volunteer Fire Department is proud to partner with our local fire academies by offering the unique opportunity for students to live and work in an active fire department while they attend the fire academy. Students will take what they have learned as they progress through the academy, and apply those skills and knowledge responding to real life incidents.

In doing so, students will gain valuable hands on experience and learn firsthand what life as a firefighter will encompass. Students will learn responsibility, independence, how to work as a team, and many more traits that will help them in their pursuit of a career in the fire service. Additionally, students will be able to show future employers real life experience in the fire service before joining a career department.
